While meditating I discovered I was journeying out of body and going other places. How odd I thought. I began to earnestly learn from my spirit guides and deceased family members, with honest deliberate intent. I discovered people don?t die; they remain here in another dimension. We all are immortal. We have a purpose to nurture our soul and nourish our spirit. This will help us in the after life and the only thing we need to learn diligently, in the here and now. We are never separated from God. Big, hugh lies were told to me and everyone. Learning to meditate and going out of body and into the blue zone will certainly enhance one?s life in many wonderful ways and a quick way to grow spiritually. There are those who breathe oxygen and those who don?t, US AND THEM, those who are living on this plane and those who are in the post life stage- they are still alive but don?t require oxygen. And they all/we all, can be communicated with. And then, there are the Extra Terrestrial and the Inner Terrestrial. Originally, I had called this group, Us, Them, and Those, but shortened it for obvious reasons. If you have lost a loved one, I would be glad to talk with you on this subject. I communicate with my loved ones on a regular basis. They are not gone. There IS ORDER in this universe. I meditate and practice going out of body and teach it, and have meetings here, at my home once a month. HikeOhio! This group is for anyone who likes to hike and walk on nature trails, backpacking trails and just about anywhere in the great outdoors. All those who are dedicated to hiking excursions in Ohio, with a focus on leaving no trace of litter on our lands can join us! We will get together for evening hikes on metro parks trails, gather for day hikes in the Ohio State park and forest system and maybe even do overnight trips if anyone is interested. Explore Columbus Homeschool Organization (ECHO) The Explore Columbus Homeschool Organization (ECHO) is dedicated to helping families in the Central Ohio area who homeschool their children from kindergarten to middle school (siblings outside that range are always welcome). Since we believe in a well-rounded organization, we offer both educational and moral support to our Member-Families regardless of religious orientation or schooling style.
ECHO offers its Member-Families a way to connect with other homeschooling families through scheduled educational and social functions to help them build lasting bonds and friendships that will grow as the children age.
The main & primary focus of ECHO is to meet face-to-face in educational and social settings. With this in mind we do ask that our members contribute in meaningful ways to the group. To that end, members are required to attend a meetup at least once every 2 months and are required to host a parent-guided meetup and a social meetup at least once every 6 months.  Members are also required to provide basic information for our roster and membership is currently capped at 40 families.  We currently have a $5 yearly membership fee per family in order to pay for our Meetup site.

Gahanna Area Moms Do you want to meet and make connections with other moms of infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers? We welcome you to the Gahanna Area Moms Meetup sponsored by Stonybrook United Methodist Church, where you and your children can socialize and play in a warm and safe environment.
We meet regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10-12 in the downstairs nursery. We also get together for in-home playdates and at public places, such as restaurants and malls. Each month, we also try to schedule a Mom's Night Out (MNO) and Mom's Night In (MNI) event- where moms can have fun without worrying about the little ones.
Active participation is required for membership of this group. We ask that you attend at least two meetups per month in order to build and maintain an intimate group of stay-at-home moms.  Serving our moms and the community is also a value to our group. We offer opportunities to serve those in need through the church and the community. We also support each other during times of need, such as the birth of a new child or the loss of a job. As you get to know our moms, we hope you become comfortable socializing, serving, and growing with us.

40 and over Ladies Social Group - East Side This group is for Ladies in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s  to meet up and socialize with other women in those age groups.The group was formed on the east side of Columbus and will mostly meet there, Pataskala, Reynoldsburg, Gahanna, Pickerington, Blacklick. We certainly welcome other areas of town to join us, but may not be inclined to meet in your area.
No one here is an employee of meet up, the organizers of this group are all volunteer, and donate their time, and sometimes money, to keep this running. Please be understanding of that.
We will meet up in local restaurants, bars, or other shops, for friendship, drinks, or dinner. We'll go do things, visit places, and have fun. We may have game night, theme parties, or potlucks. We are mostly a get together for dinner, drinks, movies, type group.
Our "Base" is A & J Wingburger in Pataskala, 113 Lois Lane, directly across from Kroger.
Our kids are grown and gone, or growing and going. We have some time for us. We're married, single, divorced, or widowed, we all need friends.
We welcome any female 40ish and over that would like to join us. We are not happy about rules, and welcome just about anyone.
Every time we meet we have a mix of regulars and new people, so don't be shy! Come out, join us, talk, have fun. We always meet the first Thursday of each month and add other dates as possible.
If you want to set up an outing of any type you are welcome to do so. We have two rules, you have to have attended one event where we have met, and you must show up for the event you plan. Â Beyond that, you can plan whatever you'd like to host. I will add it to the calendar, make you the host, and you are in charge. Easy pesy!
NO SHOW RULE: Please note due to the number of prior no shows we have had to incorporate this rule. After 2 no shows in a one year period I will send an email to you. If a 3rd no show happens in a one year period I will need to remove you from the group. While I understand things come up please know it is very difficult to plan when 25-30% of the folks who RSVP do not show up. Additionally it is unfair to the staff waiting on us, we also risk being be asked not to return. You can remove your RSVP if something comes up, but please do not wait until the meet-up has started, or is about to start.

General Information
When we are accepting new members you may request to join our group. At that time you will be asked to attend a "Meet & Greet" Prior to being approved as a member of the group. Â This is to insure the safety of our members and children and the privacy of personal information that may be contained on this site. It will also give you a chance to meet group members, learn more about us and decide if our group is a good "fit" for you and your child's needs and availability.
Membership dues are $5 per member due every 6 months to cover the cost of Organizer dues to run our group on Meetup. Deadlines for these dues will be announced and may be paid by paypal through this site, cash or check made payable to "Andrea Fannin". If paying by check please put "PP meetup dues" on the memo line.
ALL home-based playdates will be held in or close to Pickerington unless otherwise noted.
All members are able to schedule meetups for our group. You may host in-home playdates and/or schedule playdates at public locations. If you need help in doing so, just ask. If you would like to set a limit for how many people may attend your in-home playdate, please message Andrea Fannin through meetup, email, text or Facebook and I will create this limit for you. When giving your attendee limit please give me the number INCLUDING yourself in the attendee limit.;)
If you would like to set an age limit for your in-home playdate please include the age range in the description of your playdate. If you do not specify an age range it will be assumed the playdate is open to all ages.
We will try to meet the needs of all members as best we can, but please be aware that many members are SAHM or work from home moms and so, although there will be plenty of opportunity for weekend playdates a Majority of our playdates and such may be held Monday-Friday ranging from morning/afternoon/evening hours.
Social gatherings could be playdates held at each others houses, parks, restaurants, zoo, COSI, museums, etc. or we could even organize "mommies nights" where we could go out and enjoy an adult night out with dinner, movies, drinks etc. while the daddies watch the kids. ;)
GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY: We would like to be able to "give back" to our community so there will be periodic opportunities to donate and/or volunteer to different non-profit organizations throughout the year. Â This could be collecting non-perishable items to donate to food pantries, collecting items to be donated to shelters or women/children centers or even opportunities to donate/volunteer for pet or environmental welfare. Â If you have a cause you are interested in asking the group to help with, please contact me with specifics and we can see what we can do! :) Some groups we have worked with are: The Pickerington Food Pantry and The Sedona Grace Foundation (a pet food donation program).

I have been a meetup member on and off since moving to Columbus. While I've enjoyed some of those experiences, I was interested in creating a group that incorporated everything I like to do all in one. I consider myself an eclectic person who enjoys doing a wide variety of things around town. I am hoping to find some fun ladies who would like to join me in experiencing all that Columbus has to offer to it's fullest. Our meetups will include travel, exercise, wine tastings, dining out, dancing, cultural events, festivals, museum tours, coffee/book outings, cooking classes...everything and anything I find that looks interesting around the city.
Who this group is intended for:
Females only, this is not a dating group, so I'd prefer to keep this just for the girls. Now if we meet some guys while we're out enjoying ourselves, that's great but it's not the focus.
Be mature, I would suggest you be atleast mid to late twenties; however, if you are a mature 23 year old, definitely join us. Otherwise, there is no age requirement.
This group is not looking to exclude; however, many of our activities will be "people of color" friendly. What does this mean? It means that while we might attend dinner in German Village one evening and plan a trip to Europe next year, we might also have an event at a poetry reading in the King-Lincoln district. If you are comfortable in all of these settings and want to explore the culture and diversity of Columbus, feel free to join our group.

This is not a professional networking group. There are enough of those already on meetup. Moms Clean Air Force Ohio We are helping moms let leaders know we want clean air for our kids! Moms will do everything they can to keep their children safe and sound. We look for the healthiest foods we can afford; we avoid toxic chemicals in our products.We are moms who work together together to protect our children. The purpose of our group is to bring Ohio moms together in order to turn around our air pollution issues. Ohio is currently ranked 2nd in the nation for mercury pollution. We teach moms how to be "Naptime Activists". We organize mom's night out events, afternoon play dates, group conference calls where you can ask your leaders important questions and so much more. We create easy opportunities to help moms be aware of Ohio's air quality issues and to raise their collective voice. This is a group for moms who care about protecting their children from toxic air pollution. We will have events for moms with young children. We will have events for moms with older children. Sometimes being a good mom means being an active citizen. We do not want mercury in our air. We want to clean our air and lower the asthma rates in our state. We need job-creating regulations to assure that our children have clean air right now, and for their future.

If it were easy, we wouldn't see the obesity problem in society that we do. This is where this group comes in. This group is dedicated to helping people achieve their goals, offer motivation, education and as a general place for like minded people to gather, discuss and help one another along. Our meet-ups will consist of educational and exercise oriented functions. This group is aimed towards those who have made the commitment to get healthy....for those who are willing to put in the hard work and help others on the journey. This isn't easy but I absolutely guarantee that you'll get results. If you aren't ready to give up the emotional eating, greasy fast foods and the vast majority of sweets while putting in hard work at the same time, then this isn't the group for you. I have a motto that has served me well in life for just about anything worth doing and that motto is "Nobody said it would be easy" and that will certainly carry over to this group.
The most difficult part of the process is the beginning. Making the commitment to getting healthy for many people is a big shock to their body, mind and lifestyle. The first few months can be (and most likely will be) extremely difficult. I say all of this mainly because I want no one to have any illusions along with having a good idea of the commitment it really takes. I want our group to be successful, I know that only those willing to make the commitment and put in the hard work are going to come out on top. So lets do it!

Freethinking Grieving Parents I am a mother of three adult children, one of which died at the hands of a distracted driver while he was riding his motorcycle. I have been to several support groups for parents like me, all perversely based on religious ideas and superstitions to my chagrin. I would like to start a group in my town of parents who lost an adult child and want the support of non-theistic friends; a place where we can dispense with the fairy tales and discuss how we are dealing with our loss as we embrace the cold harsh reality of it all. No delusions, no spiritualism, no superstitious nonsense, just reasonable conversation based in reality, and the support of other non-theistic parents who have lost an adult child. How do we freethinking, reasonable, rational, reality-based humanists deal with the heavy, heart crushing grief we are enduring every day? That is a support group I could embrace.

Filmmakers and Actors Impact Group Purpose ? To create, develop and strengthen a filmmaking community within the Columbus, OH area. This is a platform, which gives filmmakers and actors the access to practice their craft by working on short projects together. The group will focus on three key areas, collaboration, education and production. With collaboration the group seeks to foster networking among its members, contributing to one another?s projects and providing mentorship when needed. With education the group seeks to conduct workshops, tutorials and lessons, which give an overview and specifics about the filmmaking process, marketing and distribution. With production the group seeks to encourage the ongoing production of small film projects, which includes short narrative films, short documentaries and short experimental films.
Philosophy ? The group is committed to building a community of strong storytellers using the visual medium. This is a place where everyone can share their story and embrace the filmmaking process through great instruction and consistent practice. We?re also giving individuals the opportunity to hone their skills in a noncompetitive, supporting environment. This allows for the creation of audiences and avenues for individuals to showcase their projects and test their intended audiences.
Requirements ? Passion for filmmaking and/or acting. Participants should want to engage in the filmmaking process as a filmmaker or an actor. Participants should also want to collaborate with others, give back and attend the regular meetings.
Meetings ? Held once a month and each meeting focuses on various topics which are chosen by the members.
Equipment ? The group promotes the idea of using what you have and/or collaborating with others. Equipment is available through the Fort Hayes Film Program. Central Ohio Pluralsight Study Group The Central Ohio Pluralsight Study Group was started for the express purpose of gathering developers together on a weekly basis to watch, discuss and learn from Pluralsight's vast library of training. We are supported by Pluralsight in our efforts and sponsored by TechColumbus who is generously providing our meeting facilities.
We meet at the TechColumbus offices off of Kinnear road once a week to study. The general format is to spend approximately one hour watching a Pluralsight training video followed by 30 minutes to 1 hour of round table discussion of the video we saw along with a review of the code if applicable.
For each Pluralsight course we choose to watch will get broken down into approximately one hour segments. We will then post all of those weekly sessions on this meet-up site. Members can sign up for as many sessions as they can attend. This way, if there are sessions that members can not attend, the content we will cover is outlined on the meet up site so members can watch them using their Pluralsight account at their own leisure.
Our meetings attendance list is limited by the size of the room we are given. So, members are encouraged to sign up for as many meetings as they can attend in order to ensure seating availability.

Living Intentionally Columbus Area Networking Due to circumstances in our world some of us are looking at other ways to provide a secure and comfortable living arrangement, now and in the future. I am seeking to start a communal group in the Columbus Area that will buy a farm together and live off that farm as much as possible. The Ohio River Rat Society This a group for anyone interested in kayaking central Ohio and surrounding areas. The trips will provide opportunities for paddlers of all skills levels to get their "paddle on".
I plan on scheduling overnight trips or a simple 2-4 hour excursion almost every weekend, to various locations.
I have check every canoe livery in Ohio, and they all offer shuttle service for half the price of the standard trip. I'm open to suggestions from anyone who has a location they would like to explore.
We do have access to a luxury cabin on the Kokosing river with all the amenities. A great place to get away and enjoy what what Mother Nature has to offer us.

Columbus Chronic Pain Support Group Originally from Toledo, Ohio and co-founder of "Serenity Chronic Pain Support Group" my name is Cha Reeves-Fayese. -- I have created a group here in Columbus, Ohio for socialization, friendship and support during difficult times. I have rheumatoid arthritis (a painful auto immune disorder in which your immune system attacks the join tissue) and have suffered through 8 operations in the 9 years that I have had the condition. I also have a sister who has RA and a father who has rheumatic fever.
I would like to use my experiences with the condition to create a bonding, friendly atmosphere over coffee or at the library and as well as other meetups such as walks in the park, jazz jams, etc..

This is our first year. We acquired our property at the end of last summer and are crawling out of winter with lots of momentum. (51 acres of rolling, wooded hills in Sugar Grove, OH with four ponds - just South of Lancaster, OH, 35 minutes from eastside of Columbus) Currently, we are three adults and two children who have come together to exit mass consumerism and create a sustainable living model for ourselves and others to build from.
We believe the current model is broken in many ways. We believe that personal freedom can only come from individuals joining together to provide their basic needs through a peaceful, loving, supportive community and network. We believe that we are all one people and one earth. We are striving to utilize organic resources for food, shelter & energy, utilize entrepreneurial methods along with barter & trade to generate income, involve community through educational opportunities, and expand our spirituality and connectedness to the earth.
The purpose of this meetup is to provide a springboard where these topics and ideas can be discussed and applied as well as gaining & providing inspiration. We want to keep Ohio money and Ohio brainpower in Ohio, I am tired of losing people and businesses to California and elsewhere because they don't feel that there is enough support in Ohio. We wish to build an Ohio confederated ecosystem of entrepreneurs that is unique to Ohio and the envy of other states.
